The extended version of the Expedition, ford largest SUV, is 14.8 inches (37.6 centimeters) longer than standard version of Ford’s crossover. Wheelbase is also increased by 12 inches (about 30 cm). Extended length model also has longer rear doors in order to make an easier ingress/egress for the passengers. This length increase will provide more comfort cabin for all eight passengers, as can fit in Expedition. Longer cabin also means more space in cargo. You have cargo space of 42.6 cubic feet (about 1200 liters) when all seats are up, 85.5 cubic feet (2400 liters) when you overlap third row of seats and 130.8 (over 3700 liters) cubic feet with the only first row upright.
2014 Ford Expedition EL Specs
With traditional body on frame construction and 5.4 liter V8 with 300 horsepower and max torque about 500 Nm, 2014 Ford Expedition EL definitely is not for those who want an economical SUV. Fuel consumption is quite large – about 17 liters per 100 km in the city and about 12 liters on highway. Four wheel drive version even more non-economical, over 18 l/100 km in the city and over 13 liters on a highway. On the other side, towing capacity is impressive 4 tones, just 90 kg less than standard-length Expedition. Both four-wheel and rear drive models are equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission.
